I have a 10 gallon recovery tank and it's infested with bristle worms! They range from 2 to 3 inches and there are at least 15 of them. I'm wondering if there's a crustacean or fish that would do the job. I read that arrow crabs, coral banded shrimp, and wrasses do good jobs, but they don't seem very compatible with a 10 gal... Maybe a really small coral banded? Idk

I don't necessarily want to kill them.. Just keep the population under control. And I was thinking about putting seahorses in the tank. Would they be harmful? Whenever I try to get rid of even one, I can't get the whole thing and it just regenerates.

First off don't even think of putting seahorses in that tank, its way to small for any kind of seahorse except for Miniature one's. Read this article, especially page 2 where is explains the minimum sized tanks.

As far s removal of the Bristle worms, in a tank that small a pair of tweezers and latex gloves would be the best way to remove them. Feed'em an remove'em and you will find out that it will only take a few days and they will all be gone.

If you want something the kill them and eat them then an Arrow crab would be your best bet, but is will not be able to eradicate them, only keep them in check, maybe.

They eat anything dead or dying, I believe. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will let you know...

Never known them to eat anything healthy, just dead stuff or extra food laying about on the bottom. They are a sign of a healthy tank and part of your clean up crew.

Thanks for the info. And the seahorses are dwarfs. They only get to be 1.5 in max. Would an arrow crab really be okay in a 10 gallon? And people I know that have 50+ gallons have had small fish such as hawkfish and clowns eaten by bristles over one foot. They act fine, the next morning they turn their lights on, and they've disappeared.

Six line wrasse will dominate the population pretty fast.
