Hey everybody, I got a bristletooth tang about 6 days ago and she was perfectly healthy. She swam and grazed and even ate mysis shrimp.
Yesterday morning however i woke up and found what looks to be some type of bruising or discolouration on her body. They are darkened (black spots) areas on her body which are not black ich. I have tried to research what she has but have come up empty handed.
    Please heLP!

    Parameters are as follows:
    ammonia: 0ppm
    Nitrite: 0ppm
    Nitrate: 5-10ppm
    pH: 8.0
    Calcium: 480-500

Here are some pics. Hope someone can help; however, hopefully i am exagertaing these discolourations.

are the spots staying there as the lights are on or do they disappear?

My tang and rabbit has different discolorations and weird colorings when they first wake up..however as the lights are on throughout the day they get back to normal coloring.

Is anything pecking her? I dont think it is anything to worry about.

She looks good and if she is eating she should be fine!

The spots on her remain during the day, however they werent in the same spots yesterday. I dont think that anything is pecking at her or bothering her, she is the largest in the tank compared to the other fishies. She also grazes all day long and does not stop swimming. Im just showing concern for the new addition.

It could be loose scales, some of my fish get a loose scale or two that appear to be discolorations.
