I have something eating my Ricordea Mushroom's. I have hundred's of bristleworm's. Could they be the culprit, or maybe they are just dying out. I lost two in the last month. They just turn to gunk and flow away. What types of fish will eat the worm's?
I heard a sixline will but not to sure. Will they?

I think that you have them dying off. What are your params? Any changes in set up or dosing?

Yeah if they're turning to mush it doesn't sound like they're getting eaten. Way back when..I had an issue with two different types of mushrooms engaging in chemical warfare (or so I was told..I don't know what else it could have been though). All of the sudden they just disintegrated. Could possibly be something like that..just tossin' it out there.

sixlines and peppermint shrimp will take care of that problem unless they are dying out then u should do a water change and add some iodine and see if that helps

Bristle worms just clean up dead/dying things. They don't go after anything still living, so they're not the ones doing it. I agree with the chem warfare if your params are off that could be the issue too.

I was overfeeding for a couple weeks and my nitrates spiked to about 40 from the usual 0 so maybe that was the problemI doubt chemical warfare though as they arent very close to any other corals. All my mushrooms are grounded and every thing else is on the rock's. The only new addition was a Sebae Anemone and he hasnt been close enough to have been the problem. I have been thinking abou a sixline. I have 1 peppermint but theres noway for him to keep up with the worm population. I should go ahead and get a sixline. I need to get rid of my yellow tang first. HE is outgrowing the 55. Any fish that gets to be 4 inches is gone. thanks for the input.
