Brittle sea star (hitch-hiker)

    went to my favorite LFS and picked up some nice green star polyps, white pulsing xenias, and a purple/orange ricordia.

    The large plate frag of green stars I picked up had a surprise I didn't see until I had climatized and placed it.

    From the looks of the micro tiny critter, looks like a brittle sea star. It dropped off and disappeared before I could get the camera, but if I see it again, I'll post a pic. It was about 1" total diameter tip to tip of the arms, and a small round center with looooooong tentacles with little spikey things all along the length.

    More than likely a beneficial brittle star. Detrivores and scavengers.

    ok, that's good news. I wonder if my shrimp will eat it since it's so tiny....
