    Hi,

I am working on a research paper that requires experimentation, and I need brittle star or sea star larvae (preferably species found in the Florida Keys, such as sponge stars)

I know that I could drive south and catch a few mature ones, or stop by the LFS and buy some, and hope that they would spawn, but has anyone heard if I may be able to purchase larvae, or how I could promote spawning.

I have a 75 gallon, a bird wrasse, spotted grouper, puffer, clown, two crabs.

    Thank you for your interest.

    Hey razvan,
I got lots'o stars... don't know where the hell they come from, but I got one rock that produces these bad boys'a plenty...I believe they are eaten when they venture out...and so be it. Wish I could help ya on your question..it sounds reasonable enough to me...but, as I said..not knowing where they come from..not a clue...so heres a "bump"...and maybe I'll learn a bit me self. : )

I'm not a 100% but I would probably be careful putting bristles in a tank with your wrasse, grouper, and puffer. They might become easy dinner. Again, not 100% but those skinny legs would probably fit really well into a few mouths in your tank.
