    :help:

We are having a miniature melt down today we had the center brace on the frame brake on my 90g BF while doing maintenance.

We would not worry so much except the glass deflection is over 1/2 inch...scary!. After removing half the water we tried to JB Weld marine resin but even after curing it did not hold.

We also tried Gorilla super-glue and added a 3/4 inch aluminum brace and after pouring back the water it gave way yet again.

Is there any one who makes or carries these braces?

Any feed back is welcome .....

    Thanks

    Ernie

    I have a 2005, 125g with a centerbrace only.

When I got it off CL, the center brace was cracked, but not all the way broke.

I epoxied it and clamped it- and it's held since.

BUT, I realize yours is at the end, and is all the way broke!

I'd suggest making an outer brace to let however you try cure really well.

I'd also suggest expoxing in a few layers of fiberglass over the break, and let it cure really well with a brace holding the tension for a few days.

If you've never used any fiberglass for anything- it's really easy.
Sand/rough it up and it cleans it well too. saturate the pre cut fiberglass layers over the crack area, extending as much as you can. Lay the layers different directions for a pro fix. Viola! It'll stay

NO problem. Even good glue won't hold sometimes for something like this, even with more time.
It might need a few layers of glass layed on it as well. Cured overnight, it'll hold with a brace while it cures.

Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Might be a good idea to install a pipe clamp or similar in the meantime to relieve the deflection in the glass. Also a good way to keep the stress off the fix area while curing.

Yeah, you're going to need to "sandwich" that somehow with other materials in order to get it to hold. Some fiberglass layers are a good idea.

Well forum tried the heavy duty Epoxy and no deal after 24 hours of curing and running for about 20 min it went again ... To avoid nightmares we are going to pull the trigger and order a new tank rimless is where my mind goes. We are not looking to buy the whole kit since we already have most of what I need.

I don't see many around or much info on them but everyone loves there rimless so ill give it a shot. If anyone knows of any good deals on rimless let us know especially any distributors in the Florida area.

    Again Thanks to all!

What if you make a new one that would just slip over the rim. It could be like a half or " I " looking thing that can just replace the stock one. I dont know if wood would hold but I think metal and you could protect it form corrosion I think it would work.

Find a sturdy c piece that can slip over the outside like Hank said. Glue it to the outer sides would hold probably longer and better than counting on the already broken one.
