    Hello,

I recently started having an issue w/ a thick sponge like brownish color algae issue. Its soft to the touch and it peels off the rock almost like a mat. It seemed to start when I switched from CF lighting to MH lighting. My water parameters are very good except my Nitrates are a little high around 30ppm. I attached a few photos. One of the photos shows how it can peel back (middle of photo). Any help to identify it and hints on how to elminate will be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

Are you sure it's not a sponge? I got a bunch of live rock once with chicken liver sponges that looked like that...

Oh maybe. If thats the case should I just leave it alone? I just don't want it to take over the rock!
