Brown Algae? on my sand spreading fast

I had some brown stuff on my sand when I left thursday but when i came back yesterday it has got darker and has spread i remember see something about what it is but cant remember what the name of it was.

i left the lights off from thursday to yesterday also

 

Did you just set the tank up? Could be diatoms

 

Diatoms perhaps ? Is you system newly cycled ? If that is the case most likely diatoms and it will pass as the tank ages.

 

it was about 2 to 3 months old in a 30 gallon and i moved it all (water, sand, rocks, filter plus 1 new filter, powerheads, heater, etc.) to a 75 gallon tank that has been going for about 2 to 3 weeks now. the 30 gallon got the diatoms and little white bugs on the sides.

I wasnt even considering it starting the process over again. Either way is this junk on the sand ok?

 

If its diatoms which I think it is, it will go away and will not harm anything along the way.

 

these happend to me and still have it its also on the glass with tiny flower looking things what is this i need help

I always recommend looking at limiting your nutrient sources and maximizing export. Wouldn't hurt to look at the linked checklists.
