    Well what you are going through is very normal! As stated you added too many fish at once and the tank can't handle the bioload. 2 triigers in a 50g is too much at once. Don't do water changes, water changes will not remove ammonia or nitrites. As amcarrig said, doing a water change will just add to your problems, the best thing you can do at this point is wait it out. Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are a part of the nitrogen cycle, when a tank is mature you won't see spikes in ammonia or nitrites but because your tank is so new anything can cause the spike, like added 2 fish that create alot of waste in a tank. Also you really should use ro or ro/di water. Tap water is usually treated with clorine, chloramine, and ammonia, not to mention the heavy metals in it, silicates and a slew of other unwanted things. You will be fighting a losing battle with tap water.

    I would drain it and fill it with RO/DI water so there is no more problems in the future. Just my $.02
