you will go through another cycle upon transfer, the move but it will be alot shorter. if you do it slowly over a week there will be very little stress on the live stock

it could cause a small cycle but it should be ok, if you make sure the other tank is really clean and transfer everything from your cube to the larger tank and dont add anything else.

EDIT: lol posted at the same time as sostoudt sorry for the saying pretty much the same thing

You could get a few snails or some blue legged hermit crabs... The fuzzy brown algae is normal... It just takes time to get ride of it.. Maybe later you could get a phosban but right now your tank seems to be just cycling.. no big deal :).. Just remember patients is the key in this hobby ;) ..!!

Why not get a chunk of live rock with some macroalgae on it from LFS?
I have brown algae in my tank too, and it's 4 years old. I have a small phosphate level that is what keeps driving the algae to grow, but other than that, the tank has been ok. It sucks though, because it keeps my coralline algae from growing. :( Since my one tank that has this problem is only 20G, it's hard to make a fuge for it. I may just make a small fuge myself out of acrylic sheets and toss it below the tank. If that doesn't work, I'm going to put in some rock with macroalgaes in my tank too.

no algae but coraline is good to put in the display tank.not unless you always want to be pulling it out.even a mature small tank is unstable, anything you add or take from it will cause imbalance to some degrea.even turning the light on will change its stability.i'd give it a month and start doing regular monthly water changes of about 2 galons or so.it will never be completely stable.i'm not saying it can't be done.i'm just saying not to look for perfection in a small tank.only add hardy corals and fish, under stock the fish.
