Bump...anyone? i just had to cut another small branch off my colt...it looks as if there are little white eggs or balls in the tissue where i cut...but i dont know if its because of the brown jelly or if its everywhere...um could it be some sort of parasite? ugh...if so is there anything i can do?

hey Bruce, sounds horrific man hope it can be saved. the least stressful way to possibly halt this is to do a freshwater dip for 3-5 minutes. this will kill most of the microorganisms present causing your coral problems. Lugol's solution is kind of a last ditch effort man, it could kill the coral on contact with instant bleaching and polyp bail out. if it comes down to that administer 5-10 drops of 5% lugols solution per liter/quart of freshly made seawater. it is best to have this water circulating and a 10 minutes max dip might work. once again this could kill your coral on contact so use caution. side note: brown jelly disease is contagious so if you have a QT use it. i wish you luck, hope this helps.

Ya, i ended up just ditching the branch...its only the colt that gets it...probably once every 2-3 months...maybe just its way of saying its too big for the tank so i give it a trim...
