I think this is brown jelly disease. If so what do I do? This is a new torch that I had about a week and the brown stuff just showed up this morning but the heads started dieing the other day.

You will want to remove the affected heads and dip the coral in iodine. You might want to see if there are any other ways to deal with BJD by looking it up on the net.

Is it bjd though? what is the best way to remove to coral from the tank to take off the heads, also what is the best way to remove the heads themselves. I have never done anything like it before.

It looks like it. You will need to pull the coral and the rock it is on if you can not remove it from the rock. Use a dremel to cut off the dead heads as low as you can on each stalk.

No you shouldn't. Always cause LPS coral to close up completely by gently irritating it. This will prevent the tissue from tearing due to water in the tissue and killing the coral.

You should also siphon as much of the BJD so it does not get loose in the tank tank and kill other corals.

Good luck. In a pinch if you have room to do it you can remove the bad heads by hand.
