I know exactly what your saying...I think all of us are guilty of wanting to go from 1st gear to 4th gear...but patience is the key...don't worry...everyday is a new experience in this hobby...I.M.O if you want to add anything right now..I'd add more live rock...so that it cures and cycles all together...if you decide to add more live rock in the future..you'll have to cure it in a seperate container...if you add uncured live rock to an already stable tank..you might do more harm then good...uncured rock will release die off...and pollute your tank. Its good to have 2lbs of live rock per gallon.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
If it was my tank I would do a water change, until the tank cycles which it will. There will be a lot of die off with live rock enough to keep the levels up.
No reason to torture the poor fish.
You can also get some MB7 or seeding products to assist it.
Your kids and wife will probably be disappointed if the fish die.

Nothing wrong with soft cycling a tank and preserving the current tank inhabitants and critters in the LR.

Well it depends how you look at it,there's live stock in the tank...so without water changes their sitting in pollution...and will die...I do agree with you...the less water changes the more the bio will build...but in this case hes got fish and snails that are being put in a room full of smoke with no ventilation(sort of speak)...I don't want to step on any toes here.I personally cycled without live stock and did 3 water changes in 2 months it took to cycle...I think this is the best way to cycle...less water change the more bio build..no fish tortured...:) I just think because of his live stock water changes are a must..Good convo though..:)
