    Hi
    My tanks been set up now for little over a week and i am starting to notice a browning over the sand, is this normal?

    Completely normal...

    Will pass in time, esp once you can get a cleaning crew in there.

    Can expect several algae cycles over time...

    Be patient.

    Yes mate the lights are on 10 hours a day one of these is used for plants GRO LUX will this cause the bloom to get worse?

    I personaly dont like to run the lights when cycling, You might have a algae problem later on. Luna

    So what do i do leave them on turn them off lessen the hours? , anybody else left them on while cycling, how did it go?

    you have nothing in the tank! just leave them off - and you'll avoid algae altogether!

    I on the other hand do not believe in leaving lights off during cycle. Your going to have algae now or later. Why not now. I would be concerned about the GRO LUX. If they are below 55K in colour temp you will have algae problems beyond the normal. Try something in the 6500 to 14000 range

    I have 1 fish in there anyway, so the lights would have to be on i'm guessing,Jason thank you very true,The gro lux is going, will se ewhat the lfs has.

    I had my lights on while my tank was cycling.. Just letting you know what I did...... About 10 hours a day....
