So I just got a bunch of live rock of Craigslist, anyways looking over it in my tank I noticed this funny thing living in a arch in the rock. It has a small brown segmented worm looking body with a white ball at the top with a bunch of tiny white hairs coming out.

It's to small to get a legible picture with the camera I have right now sorry.

And Im new to this so sorry if it is something obvious haha thanks anyways!

Probably a bristle worm. Nothing to worry about IMO.

Mmm doesn't look anything like that when I google images it.

One more detail is that is is attached to a rock at the base of the body I'll try and get a picture.

    hehehe picture really helps!
if it is like a crown then its a featherduster!!! very reef safe
If its like a stringy thin silky thing then its a vermentid (sp?) worm... no harm to tank but just annoying

Yea not a feather duster I googled that haha, the small silky hairs cover the head uniformly over the entire thing.

Should I try and remove it or not?

Hmm well when I look at other vermentid worms on google it really doesnt look like that either, if it was that what harm do they cause that I would need to remove it?
