brown slime

    iv had my torch coral 4 two months now everything was going fine,water was fine then the next thing she started closing up check waters it was fine then then next thing was a brown slime i went to blow it off and the hole head has been eated its complete gone ? will this mess up my another coarls i ran carbon straight away and iv done a 25% water change help:eek:

    If it is brown jelly it will decimate the entire tank. All flow needs to be turned off and it removed slowly. It will transfer to other corals and kill them. Brown jelly will kill a coral within 24 to 48 hours. You have to remove the coral and not spread it around.

    **** some of the stuff got blow in to the tank it took 1day for this coarl to go like that i had a pom pom coarl a little bit was on that she was the first 1 to get it i was told to do a fresh water dip that seemed to work but this 1 was to late should i run my uv steriliser iv taken out the coral now everything else is ok at the mo i hope

    I dont know of any thing other than its bad stuff. I had it on a taro tree and cut the tree off at the base. Threw it out and actually lost 2 of them. It sticks to the coral so removal is the only way.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    The protozoan responsible for the brown jelly is already present in your tank. At this point water changes and quality carbon are going to be your best friends.
