Howdy folks. I've got a Red Sea Max 34 gallon. This tank is about 2 months old. I've got some ugly brown algae on my ls/lr. A similar type algae showed up during my cycle, didn't worry about it, but now it's back!

Amonia, nitrate and nitrite is 0
    ph 8.0, sg 1.024
    temp is 77.7 F.

I think my cycle is over and this stuff shouldn't be here anymore... any suggestions?
Live stock: Three green Chromis, 5 hermits (red legs), 2 peppermints. I did have a manderin but It died after a buff and water change...???

i dont think you finished your cycle completely. and two months is way to early for a manderin, no copapods in the tank yet. otherwise what are your water paremters? try getting some more flow to the areas that have the algae build up to start. but dont worry to much its still a super new tank.

There were hundreds and anthropods in the tank, and the manderin did fine for a week. It got sick after I did a water change and buffed the PH. I agree with the tank being too young... Any suggestions about the algae growth...

I feed the tank a small block of frozen brine every other day. 5 red hermits and 2 pep. shrimp eat what the three chromis don't get!

I have a red sea max 34 gallon. There are two return pumps at top left of the tank. Only one pump runs at a time. This is what my lfs told me to do to reduce heat in the tank. I have that pump pointed at the surface to increase the o2. exchange in the water...???

i would aim some flow at the trouble patches of algae. either with what return pumps you have, or new powerheads. one pic almost looked like cyano. does any of it have a red tint? if so then that is what you need to do. IMO with some flow and time it should solve its self. i would also get some snails of sort turbo, margirata which ever

I also dont think your cycle is over yet! Otherwise you wouldn't have the bloom on your sand. You need to get more flow in there to bust them up and get them out! More flow, more flow, more flow!

I agree with everyone else. I would also rinse the frozen food before feeding to get rid of the extra nutrients. I have found that my tank has had quite a few little cycles as it has been maturing. Different things seem to come and go, it takes a long time to mature which is different then the original cycle.
