    well to me it looks like u r dealing with a new tank and the cycling prosses that goes w/it....ro is a must...weekly water changes....new tank stuff...get some crabs and snails.....like 15 each! when u do yor waer changes scrape the crap off the glass....the snails and the crabs will do there job just be patient with the new additions to tank and 1 gal 1 pnd of rck i am new too but ive been there done that.....dont overfeed and keep light cycle to a min...just a thought

    Hello, I scanned through the post and responses and unless I missed it I didn't see any light cycle or time. Since the tank is only 3 mos. old, if the lights were new when starting out, they should be good. Yes, this is all part of the "first year" blues as I call it. For now, try running your lights for say...no more than 7-8 hours and see if that helps and when things seem to be getting better add an hour or so every couple of weeks until you get to maybe 10 hours max.
