I currently run I really old Via Aqua 20/20 Reator with a Maxijet 400 powering it, it seems like the gfo doesn't even tumble at all and doesn't move, stays like a lump. I got it free so I figured its better than nothing but now am thinking of just getting rid of it and upgrading to this two part system, anyone using it currently?

This is how my GFO reactor looks, 75 gallon mixed reef going through a dinoflagellate outbreak

Run GFO and Carbon in a separate canisters instead of the dual canister. You need to adjust flow for GFO and carbon differently, which the dual reactor doesn't do. I also looked it up and decided to just get one for now and another one if I need to run both.

Spectrapure sells a dual reactor setup that is run by one pump with two valves to control flow to each chamber.

Interesting. That's a choice then. If you don't think it's tumbling correctly then you can order a new one or replace the pump.

Why don't you just put a bigger pump on the reactor you already have? A maxijet 400 probably isn't enough to run a reactor.

Do you think that would solve the problem? I was thinking of putting a 1200 on there but afraid of the flow pulverizing the media, but there literally isnt any tumble at all. It just all sits at the top in a clump, I guess i could run a valve on it to control the 1200.

Yes. Put at least a 1200 on it with a valve. That way you can control it.
