I have a BRS Dual Reactor with GFO and Carbon now. It is time to order more GFO.

I just received an email video link from BRS on their Bio Pellet reactor. I want to convert my GFO side to Bio Pellets, but will I have a issue because it is a dual reactor? They sell an insert to use Bio Pellets in their reactors for $8.

My understanding is Bio Pellets will remove phosphates and nitrates, GFO only removes phosphates.

Can anyone think of a downside to doing this?

The only downside would be it wouldnt remove as much of the phospates or i have read that before.

It is suggested to run pellets for a month at least an then re-introduce GFO if necessary. I'm not sure if a dual reactor would be less efficient than a single. I know it is recommended to get a non-RO canister reactor (TLF, NextReef, PM, etc.) as they are much more efficient than the BRS model. It will work in a BRS model, but I am not sure about how well in the dual. Make sure you get the proper flow going through to maximize the pellets potential.
