So i have an extra brs single stage reactor with the included canister for carbon. Can i just throw DI resin in this and hook it to my RO unit? It looks like it would work. Has the foam pads in it to hold the DI in place. Any thoughts? Anyone think this wouldnt work?

Yes. You'd need to change one of the fittings to 1/4" to connect from your clean RO output to your input DI. Other than that, yes. It should work without issue. I recommend SpectraPure SilicaBuster DI Resin.

Yea I know i gotta get a reducer fitting from 1/2 in to 1/4 but that should be easy with a trip to homedepot.

What about BRS DI resin? Any good? I have 20$ in points soooo lol

How long will 1 refill last?

My BRS resin lasted around 6-8 months, but I have extremely low TDS to begin with. It does not filter out silicates however, and I had a crazy algae outbreak once (silica feeding stuff, slimy, nasty!). I changed over to SilicaBuster about a year ago, and it is still going strong! Algae receded within a month after the switch, with weekly water changes. The SilicaBuster is more expensive, but IMO, worth every penny. I'm sure AZ will agree. Use your 20 BRS bucks for some GFO, or 2 Part, or transfer it over to me...I can use it. ;)

Maybe im just pc tupid, i dont know. It seemed intimidating looking at spectrapures site. It also seemed just as cheap/expensive (however you see it) to buy a whole new filter vs refills. Maybe I missed something somewhere
