so i'm finally seeing my coral beauty a little more, kinda peeking out the rock and swimming back in. i noticed a white bruise on its head. what should i do? are there any medications? the fish seems fine otherwise.

I would just make sure it's eating well, it probably just scratched itself on a rock accidentally or something. Keep an eye on it in case it changes color or gets any worse or if other markings show up.

my beauty seems to be a bit of a klutz as well. every once in a while my clowns will chase him and he bumps into stuff. make sure your water params are good and keep an eye on it. the spot usually takes care of itself in about two to three days.

is it possible for a fish to die from this. the coral beauty is finally out of the rocks, but not swimming much, just kinda floating around near the surface. the cut is big and has gone from slightly pink to white. is it supposed to turn white? are the fish less active at night? it was about 9pm when i noticed it.

my yellow tang cut his mouth on a piece of LR... it turned red at first, pink, then white.
sounds familiar so it will probably be okay

I agree it probably just scraped itself on a rock. When I added two new fish to my tank a couple days ago my damsel was doing his dominant swimming, jetting around sideways, etc. and he scratched his body on the rocks and it turned white. It's already almost totally healed. So your coral beauty should look better soon. Hopefully all is well!
