I'm pretty convinced that what I've got EVERYWHERE in my DT is bryopsis. It's gross and I've tried doing everything not chemically related to get rid of it. I think the time has come for a more aggressive approach. Kent marine tech m... I've read this stuff is the way to go. Anyone have experience with this monster? How'd you get rid of it? I'd heard it takes a gallon. How much should I get for a 200 gal? I'll post a pic of what I've got in a few.

Also I've recently had another flair-up of cyano. I'd used chemi-clean before and it worked, but I didn't much care for the 20% water change it instructs to do. Lost a candy coral to it most likely due to the shock of the change b/c it was in a 24 gal nano. Any thoughts other than chemi-clean?

    Thanks a bunch!

Hit it with a 1 - 2 punch. Throw a handful of lettuce leaf sacoglossans in there too.

You will need to raise the mg to 1600ppm minimum to possibly 2000ppm. Use the calculator from the right nav column to get an idea of how much you will need. You will want to watch your SG as adding that much mg will raise it up a couple of points.

If the pictures are too big, use the resizing tools or use a free service like photobucket.

I think I've tried this as well. My LFS recommended trying a couple different things. Besides keeping phosphates and all that jazz down (when it was a hair algae prob) to sea hares/nudibranch. When I did a search on the lettuce leaf sacoglossans it popped up with an article also listing sea hares/nudibranch. Are they the same thing essentially? If so, I have had ZERO luck with keeping them in my DT.

I tried Lettuce Nudi's a few times, but they never ate bryopsis. I've heard from others that they worked for them, so maybe there are different types?

The Tech M will definitely work. I tried the BRS mag first, and it didn't do anything at 2000 ppm. Switched to the Kent, and it was gone within a week. It takes a lot to raise it in a big tank. Good luck!

i will vouch for kent tech M. pushed mag up around 1800(well, 1500 plus gestimate with the +mg/Gal rating they give) then bryopsis turned brown and the hermits went to town. never came back either!
