I had a really bad outbreak. Kept pulling it out and would grow back almost overnight. Finally ordered a mg test kit and Kent tech m. After my mg got to about 1500 it stopped growing completely. Then when I got to 1600 it started turning brown. At 1700 it started turning clear and you could tell it was dead. Some of it would fall off the rocks and i'd see it floating in the tank. The rest of it that died and stayed on the rocks my astrea snails ate. After a week at 1700 it's all gone. I'm gonna keep my mg at 1700 for atleast a month though as some suggest so that it does not come back.

The only thing it has done is make my Kenya tree about 80% white. I'm not worried about it though because other than being white it looks 100% and I'm sure it would get it's color back as soon as the mg drops back to normal.

I believe this is your only option besides tearing down your tank and nuking all the rock. I have researched this for months and it does work. It seems the people who had no success did not use Kent tech m. There is something in there that kills the bryopsis at high level (over 1700) but no one is sure just what it is.

I have actually had some luck treating it with kalkwasser paste when I had it in a tank. I don't know if this was just a freak coincidence, but it might be worth trying. Of course, watch the pH.

I have also used the Kent Tech M to beat bryopsis. I however went extreme and raised my Mag. to 2000. I had it at 1600 for 2 weeks and nothing happened so I just went higher. All the bryopsis dissapeared in about 5 days. None of my livestock (corals, inverts, fish, ect.) were negatively effected. Now I wouldnt recommend going that high. Id say more of around 1600-1800 would be fine.
