went to bed last night, anemone was fine in its rock that it has been in for about 2 weeks. woke up, sucked around the powerhead. the foot was on the glass but now has released, and it was sucked all the way around the intake at the bottom of the tank (so that the mouth is like at the bottom of it). i dont think hes dead since his foot detached and is starting to come off. some of his tentacles are beginning to inflate a little on one side, but the other side is sucked in so far that you can't even see tentacles.
do i need to gently remove him from the intake? or just keep it off and let him try to get out on his own?

my LTA anemone found my Protein skimmer two days ago. just leave it off. DO NOT try and help it. it will get out on its own. my LTA is fine and ate yesterday. good luck and with pics i can help you MUCH more.

It should be fine, aslong as there is nothing that can snag its tenticles. I came home to mine in my powerhead one day. I turned the powerhead off and it slowly worked its way out.

I would remove the end piece that he is stuck in and gently lay it down in the tank until he removes himself off it, then just put the end back on.
