Decided to buy a 2x175W MH retro kit. This in addition of my current lights should be more than enough for my system.

    Will have

    2 x 175 W 14K Hamiltons
    2 x 39 W 10K Current USA
    2 x 39 W Actinics Current USA
    3 moonlights

    506 W Total
    11.25 W/G

All lights will be individually controlled for a 4 stage lighting system.

    Moon
    Actinics
    Actinics/T5HO
    Actinics/T5H0/MH

LOL anemones ARE kind of the red-headed step child of reef keeping, aren't they?

As for your new lights, jonjon, cool! You will love the halides and good for you for taking the initiative to care for this animal properly. K+! Although in today's reefing world the WPG rule doesn't apply anymore. So I suggest you abandon that train of thought. 150 watts of MH is NOT the same as 150 watts of PC.

I know, but it is a good place to start. I have been reading just about every post on here related to MH today. For a 45H this setup should be more than enough light to do most anything (I hope).

Nice move, you will love the halides, you will probably need to have them around 15" or more off the water given the wattage, and slowly introduce them, start with 4hours a day for a week and then add a hour every week until you reach your goal, i keep my halides on for 8 hours...
