I've been pretty much away from 3reef since February 1st. Fortunately, my life is "approaching" normal again and hopefully I'll be able to spend more time on my tank and here.

A big thanks to the 3reef community though.... I have set up my tank to be virtually automatic.... just refill the ATO each week. All the set up was based on GOOD advice from 3reef. Thank God I followed that advice.

When President Obama's Budget came out February 1, all hell broke loose at NASA. I had absolutely NO time to mess with the tank. Based on the set up, the tank did just fine.

Still no final resolution on the NASA Budget, but both the House and the Senate have come back in favor of what we were doing in the first place and overturning the President's recommedation. Don't want to stray into politics, but the House/Senate proposals will restore some order to NASA.... and thus, my life.

SO.... thanks for the good advice on the set up and glad to be back.

    Mark

For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p
good luck and post pics soon :)

    LOL, welcome back Mark :jester:

Yeah, it's best to leave out politics completely:)

That said, it's good that you set your tank up to be semi automatic and little work kept it going:)

Not many issues with algae through the period of February through July while I was so busy, although it was starting to grow more. Film on the glass and a little GHA. Nothing to complain about.

I just upgraded to a 130 gallon so right now I am getting everything set up again. Planning on adding a Blonde Naso Tang and a Blue Powder Tang once everything settles out.
