Picked up a new piece of live rock last night and it has some bubble algea. Whats the best thing to get that will eat the bubble algea?

Or you could just pull the rock out and remove the bubble algae.

Emerald crab is not a good idea in your case – as they will go after the bubble they will also release its spores into your water column. As previously suggested the most prudent approach given your circumstances is to pull the rock and remove the bubble manually.

Had the bubble grown in your tank and not been on the new rock the advice would be slightly different. Good luck to you.

personally, I would nuke that rock before it has a chance to curse the rest of my rocks.

this is a very good example of why one should add dry base rock over live rock. Even if you do get the bubble off, who knows if you got it all or not...

as usual in the saltwater world, so many different ways to do one simple thing :)

nuking it is out of the question, as it has 2 bright blue shrooms and some kind of neon green something growing on it.

I actually kinda like the look of the algea, so I think for the time being a couple emeralds will go in and try and keep it down to a minimum. Tangs are out of the question, too big of a fish for my bioload. Any other suggestions are appriciated :D
