Good info, thanks! My buddy (nano-cubist) found a few tiny bubbles (pin-head sized) today and I pulled the rock and scrubbed it down to the white w/ a stainless steel brush.... rinsed in SW, and back into the tank. I'll be on the look out for more.... they look kinda cool, but I don't need 10,00,000 of them.

try to pluck/scrape instead of scrub when you can. with some species of nuisance algae the scrubbing sends a bunch of small pieces that can grow. more of a problem with species like gelidium or chondria which readily attached after being set in drift than bubble algae, but I figured after reading the whole thread I should get to post something. :)

yep... they're back. I will try plucking under my siphon some time later this week during my WC. if that doesn't work this rock's getting nuked.

Another comment on bubble algae - be sure to check your power heads. I actually had a patch growing inside one of my Koralia power heads, which was probably spewing spores everywhere!

actually I tried it a while ago when I was nuking aptasia. I squirted the kalk paste in two different spots of algae with a syringe and it stayed there for about a week, unfortunately the algea did not die, the alge seemed unaffected by it. I have also tried squirting it into bubble algae and it also seemed unaffected.
