I can get a green bubble for almost nothing except I have a concern....
It is not attached to anything it is just rolling around on the tank floor....
I do not know if that mean's it doesnt have a skeleton or whatever is wrong with it...I wanted to get some 3reef opinion's on wether it would attach itself in my tank or is dying? I want it but dont kow if it would be worth a few bucks...It is about 3 inches by 3 inches if that helps any....It has real good coloring and doesnt appear to be damaged in any way....

I got a small frag, but it had a skeleton .. Growing REAL good.. Opens up at night ready to eat..
IF it looks good, and only a couple $$.. I would say go for it..
It may have a piece of skeleton you can't see..?
But I've never heard of one with no skeleton ..
    They are really beautiful..

    Good Luck, Larry

If it doesn't have a skeleton, it's not a bubble coral. They can't detach themselves from their skeleton. The coral produces the skeleton and it doesn't attach itself to a rock. Are you sure it's not an anemone?

It is a bubble Coral it just isnt attached to anything I know nothing about them but no doubt it is a gree bubble coral. I have no idea what a skeleton looks like but I assume it has one as it is a ball like a tennis ball size. I am going to go ahead and get it payday and then I will take a picture. To try and get it to attach itself to a rock could I use a bridal peice like you would tie a mushroom down or what could I do....If nothing else I will find a low flow place and let it set on the sub....I have a 55 gallon with a 6 bulb T-5 so my lighting is suffecient....

Hey Danny. If you have a frogspawn, torch, hammer or elegance coral, then you're familiar with the skeleton type on a bubble coral. It's a similar bone footprint. As a poster above said, you're not going to find a bubble without a skeleton. By the same token, a healthy specimen's skeleton will be 100% hidden during the day.

I'd be pretty confident the bubble you're about to buy has a skeleton.

Good point, you may just not see it. But if as you described it "rolled" across the sand bed, it sounds more like an anemone than a bubble coral.

Danny, mine sits on the sand, with low flow.. You have the lights for it now.. !!
At lights out the bubbles deflate and it'll eat like a pig.. !!
Mysis shrimp, small pices cut up fresh shrimp, squid, etc..
I hope you get it, the Eagle flys today..
My day to goto the LFS, Going to get an Arrow Crab to get rid of B-Worms, I'll let you know how that works out..

    Later Friend, Larry

Well the more I read and asked about an Arrow Crab, The more I desided against it.Plus I don't have many B-Worms, Just don't like them..

I have seen open brain corals become detached from their skeletons so it's possible that your bubble coral has done the same. If that's the case, it's not long for this world.
