Bubbles can handle higher lighting conditions, they just need to adjust slowly. Start it at the bottom and slowly move it up.

Thanks for this thread, I logged on just to read up on the bubble coral & it was right there waiting for me :)
...I got mine by chance...my lfs thought it was dead, so I asked for the rock, and they gave it to me...few days later it looked like this, I couldn't believe it! I've been watching it closely, and after a few more days the tentacles started coming out once the lights went off. I've now noticed something new, but after reading this thread, I have to assume its the mouth you're all speaking of. I've fed it only once since I had it (those tentacles look like they're looking for something)...I gave it a shot of mysis & brine shrimp & it loved it!
I do have a question though...since the "rock" its on is fairly small, how will it grow? Up? Across? Or just bigger bubbles? Forgive my ignorance....even though I'm a year into this, all these fascinating critters are still new to me....now to find a thread for my question on polyps...

Sorry to hear about yours Danny.. But you gave it a good shot..

Hey Petunia, maybe we can all learn together..

Mine is just sitting on the bottom, not mounted to rock.. Can they be glued to L/R..?
And LOVES to eat.. After lights out all kinds of tentacles come out.. ..

    Hey Larry...
I'm curious then, if yours isn't on a piece of rock, what's on the bottom? Just the hard coral part? I want to assume you could, cause you can glue soft corals, but you know what happens when you assume things ;) Thats why I always come here 1st...when I saw this piece in the lfs, to me it looked like a chunk of LR with some weird coral on it, when I brought it home & got a closer look, you can see that it was cut/sawed off, I really had no idea it was going to turn into this.

    Hi Petunia..
Mine came in with some Corals I ordered. Was a freeb ..
Was in a bag with another coral, it was just a nice chunk of skeleton .. Like yours Cut with a saw.. That's why I thought it was dead..
Just a white skeleton, no grouth or anything.. Looked nice . So I just placed it in my tank. Just set it on the sand.. after a few weeks, I noticed a few bubbles, and
" skin " spreading over the skeleton It's really growing doing good..
I haven't moved it or anything. I do hand feed it.. mysis, and cut up fresh shrimp.
It has really turned into a very nice coral.. A pale green with thin pin stripes..

Be sure to keep your Cal around 440...
And it's not good to glue any soft coral to a rock.. Even tho I'm sure some do..
Some you can.. But like leathers, mushrooms, etc.. They will attach to liverock or whatever. Then that can be glued to anything..

Maybe someone will let us know how Bubbles are attached to L/R..
My candycanes, I had no problem glueing to L/R but they have plenty of skeleton ..

Keep me posted.. Good Luck, Larry
