For my new 90G, both have the small footprint I want, 9x8 and 9x7 respectively and also come with the Atman 2500 pump.

I would be happy with either of those cjrudy

I have seen multiple reviews on both SWC and Bubble Magus skimmers
and have seen a number of the Bubble Magus products being used in LFS where I am located - and I have been impressed with the performances I have witnessed

Over all not really a big difference. I think the SWC will be built a little better. But both will perform well and have the same pump as you mention.

But what type of tank is this for? Both are rated to a 90g... but I like a little more. And no I am not a big fan of seriously oversized skimmers. 90g is very popular size and there are a lot in that range. I would go up a step with a skimmer running the new Sicce pump. That would suit you well and be better than the Atman.

SWC uses the old Sicce pumps which can start backwards. No big deal except the new ones don't and it's the only way I would go. I'm sure everyone will get swapped over eventually, but right now Reef Octo is the one that has them. For a 90g a Octo Extreme 200 is pretty hard to beat... rated to 200 but I don't think it will actually go to that.

I was originally looking at the Reef Octopus® Extreme XS 8" In Sump Skimmer but the foot print is huge 15" x 9.4" x 23". Thats the reason I am looking for an alternative.
