Bubble Magus Curve 5 question

Hello All,

Upgraded to a curve 5 from some no name skimmer today. I put it together as best as I could based on instructions.

I have plugged it in and its sitting in about 9 inches of water.

My previous skimmer adjustment would cause the water level inside the body to rise or fall. The adjustment knob on this doesn't seem to do anything. There are some bubbles - but the water level stays at.whatever level the surrounding water is. The foam also stays at about 2 inches above the water level of the sump no matter how it is adjusted. This doesn't seem right.

Any ideas what could be wrong? I bought this based on many good reviews. I don't know if something isn't tight or if there is a defect.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

 

All is well today. Going over the skimmer again I found the red plug on one of the holes was not in place. I pushed it in firmly and now it seems to be responding to adjustment. It is not as sensitive as my previous skimmer but it is also brand new.
So far so good. This was a case of user error.
