Ok, probably going to start an argument here but Bubble Magus or Reef Octopus for 50 gal tank? Only problem i have with the Bubble is the mesh wheel and chinese pump. Both look well made and quite but any real world suggestions? Also cone or non?

I swear by my bubble mag. I've got a nac 6 which is for my 100 gal and it came with an extra wheel which was nice. The pump is also built into the base which is super space efficient. In the first 2 days I got about 1 inch of good skimmate. I don't have any experience with reef Octo but I love my bubble mag to pieces

I have a Super Reef Octopus XP-2000 Cone Protein Skimmer on my 55 gallon. It works great, I got it so I would not need to buy a new skimmer when I upgrade my tank.

X metal im looking at the Reef Octopus NWB-150 6" or the NA-6 Bubble Magus, looks like im swaying towards the Octo as it has the cone neck and looks a little better built, its also a pinwheel and gate controller. But people love their Bubbles! Confused.

I vote for the Reef Octo. I have a NWB 110 with a cone neck design. I love the gate valve that allows me to do a wet or a dry skim. Built very well and the pump is quite!
