I picked up a very pretty pearl Bubble not long ago, When I first put him in he started extending his sweeper's to see if anything was invading his space. (i guess thats what the sweepers are for) Well any way they were at first about a half inch long and have extending even further at a rate of maybe a 1/4 of an in every week or two....They now look to be between 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Is there no end to the length of his sweeper's? When I got him he was about 4 inches across but has almost doubled (overfeeding mysis?) in size. It is a very beautiful animal and I want to keep him but want to keep other coral's also. Is there an end to the length of the sweeper's? And I feed him a full cube of Mysis once a week. Am I overfeeding him? THank you for your time....

Your over feeding the coral. A squirt of mysis a month would suffice. :)

I can feed my large bubble coral a whole krill a week. Granted, my bubble is like 10" across when expanded not including sweepers, but it will only eat what it needs.

The sweepers are very nasty to other corals though. The sweepers touched a hydnophora frag of mine, and the hydno lost the tip of the frag from the contact. And many consider the hydno to be one of the worst coral stings.

My bubbles sweepers get quite long. It's aggressive - took out a paly polyp and keeps the Xenia trimmed back.

I will get rid of him if he keeps getting longer sweepers they are about 4 inches now.....He doesnt bother the mushrooms though I find that kind of odd as mushrooms spread rather quickly....mybe just got lucky...he is about 8 inches across now....thnx all....I will quit feeding for a while and just give him a little monthly....
