    Hello,

I would like to get a bubble tip anemone (I read they are the easiest ones to keep). I have a 75g tank with 4x48inch T5 lights (Nova Extreme).

    Do I have enough?

    Thanks!

What are the dimensions of the aquarium? My instinct says you could do it with the lights, but how mature is your aquarium?

    the dimensions are:

    48Length x 21Height x 18Width

I've had it for a month. I've got 85 pounds of live rock and a coral beauty in it. I've got 2 clownfish in the quarantine tank. That's why I was asking about the anemone.

I think you should hold off a bit. That is a very new tank. You already have an angelfish in there. They are difficult to keep, especially in new tanks, although a dwarf angel is easier than others. That said, the aquarium is a tall one, so anemones will be challenging with that light. I would stick to a BTA if you are going to try one, but I would wait.

An easy way to crash your aquarium is by overstocking. Many have done that at some point including me. You have a new tank that is barely cycled, you should slow down to make things easier down the road and hopefully save some fish too.

    Thanks for the advice!

I know I shouldn't overstock so we just plan those things:
    1 Coral Beauty
    2 Clownfish
    2 Royal Gramma
    1 Yellow Tang

That's it. Then some corals, but we haven't decided yet. What would you recommend with the light I have?

By the way, regarding the dwarf angelfish, he's doing very well. He's happily grazing at the macro algae growing on my live rock and he eats just about eveything I give to him (flakes, mysis and brine shrimp).

At first I had diatom growing. Then this has been replace by green algae. I also have red coraline algae growing on my live rock. The ammonia, nitrite and nitrate have never been above 0 in the month I've had the tank...

    Thanks!

Sounds like you are pulling out of your cycle. All that rock was a help too with the Angel. As for corals, start a new thread on the coral board and we can take it from there!

just a comment, but you may have wanted to wait to add the angel until later, at least after the clowns and royal gamma. He may pick on new additions. Just a heads up.

Anemones are very delicate and as Matt mentioned, your tank is very new, you may want to wait! Also possibly starting out with a Flower or Condy anemone may be best to get you acclimated, sicne these animals are easier to maintain. Be aware that anemones move around and contain strong nematocysts in their tentacles that can injure and kill other livestock!

I think adding anemone with low lights is like feeding a prisoner you are just barily giveing it enough to survive. I would just try to get MH and wait till your tank is older. Sometimes the bare min. is just not enough.
