bubble tip anemone or frogspawn coral???

    +1....they don't need a special something to host. They are happy hosting a rock or your mag float or a powerhead.

    Just so you know, it can take a long time for an anemone to die. 4 weeks is not really a long enough time to gauge whether or not the anemone was "healthy" in your tank.

    As has been mentioned, if your clownfish nest in a frogspawn or any other LPS coral, they will most likely kill it. If I was you, I'd get them a bunch of xenia to host in as most soft corals can tolerate the constant nudging and biting that clownfish subject their hosts to.

    They will be happy in the xenia if they decide to nest in it. You may get them to nest in the xenia by placing a color picture of a clownfish outside of the tank, facing in. They will see it as competition for territory and maybe claim the xenia as "home base". Good luck!
