    It seems to like to stay underneath the rock in a tunnel but there's no light under there..is that ok for it

    How long have you had it? It's not uncommon for a nem to take a week or more to fully acclimate to your tank, during which time it may retreat under a rock for a while. It should start moving back out when it feels comfortable. Not really much you can do- the more you mess with it, the more you stress it.
