I am going to have this skimmer Reef Octopus NWB150 6 in a 10 gallon sump by itself. How should I go about making a bubble trap? Can you give me information as if I am clueless please?

My idea is first baffle 7" high then 1" over the next baffle would be 1.5" from the bottom and then 1" away the third baffle would be 6" high. I just dont know what materials I would need and how to do it.

Or would an egg carton with filter mesh on each side before the return get rid of all of the bubbles?

I would do the baffles. You just need to have some glass cut and use aquarium silicone to glue them in. I would do 2 baffles from the top and the middle one on bottom. The reason is that bubbles rise so you would have 2 baffles on top catching some of those bubbles.

Ive never seen one like that but it makes sense. How will I still be able to keep the water level up or will it just naturally keep itself at 7 or 8 inches depending on how high the center baffle is

the center baffle will control that. remember though, the more baffles you can get in, the more efficient it will be.

Sorry if I'm copying anybody with saying this. But try to copy the eshopps sumps baffle walls. This isn't the true size of these walls in the sumps I'm just going to put an example. The eshopps has a say 8 inch wall with grates at the top. Then what ever size wall you want for the next with maybe a inch of space below it and a giant sponge in between the two walls. I don't have any bubbles come through to my pump. I'm doing my best not to sound stupid because I'm really confused to tell whether your talking about a bubble trap to for the final chamber or if your talking about stoping them at the skimmer.
