Not sure if I should be concerned about this but there are a ton of micro bubbles at the top of the water in my sump where I house my cheato.
I am thinking this could be cause from my Halogen light being to close to the water, possibly the cheato dying off, growing etc..

Forgive me if I posted this in the wrong area though I thought if it is important that I should take care of it ASAP.

    Thank you

That would be either from bubbles created as water enters that chamber or from photosynthesis.

Thanks for the reply 2in10. I dont think the bubbles are coming from the baffles since I try to keep an eye out in my sump for irregularities and I have never seen this many bubbles before from the baffles. Dont get me wrong my baffles will create some bubbles but not nearly what i showed in the picture.

If it is photosynthesis, is there anythign I need to watch out for/be concerned?

    Thanks!

the bubbles are a good thing. You know plants and the whole oxygen carbon dioxide exchange thing. That is what the Cheato's doing. It is taking co2 from the water and converting it to o2.... or atleast thats what I think is happening... could be wrong ;D If you don't run a skimmer the bubbles will be more hardy stick around longer... cause the protein that the skimmer would take out clings to the air bubbles
