I thought I saw a post about something like this a few weeks ago but I can't find it now. Anyways I seem to be getting lots of bubbles building up on my rocks and even on my button polyps! It doesn't seem to be affecting the polyps, they still extend all right so far.

What kind of thing causes this?

I turned off my power filter about a week ago.

Would that play into something like this?

I posted a couple days ago about a new algae problem due to my light bulb changes.

Are these bubbles a contributing factor?

What can I do to prevent this?

No it's not bubble algae. I had an outbreak of that a year ago. These are actual air bubbles.

I wrote in a post about air bubbles awhile back. The problem that I found was my sand bed was 3-4 in. I cut it down to 1.5-2in. and it seems to have taken care of the problem.

Does your skimmer dump into the tank or do you have a sump? I had that problem, but it was my skimmer putting micro bubbles into the tank and they were just building up under the overhangs of the rocks... have the bubbles increased since you turned off your power filter? I know you posted this awhile ago, has your problem ceased?

the micro bubbles more than likely are coming from the skimmer, the other is nitrogen. both can be dealt with.

You running good carbon ? Could be DOC's causing it have you ever tested the water for yellowing from a refugium or again DOC's , But if its nitrogen ? then you have a source cause that is producing the problem then its either find the cause and remove it or try way more internal water flows
