Please help. What can this be? Here are the pictures.
At first thought maybe Bubble Algae, but then there are bubbles to thin and microbubbles. Then i thought maybe cyano or dino or diatoms...Now someone told me maybe the skimmer. Just confused....
I siphoned algae and bubbles and did 30% water change on saturday, 2 days ago, and suddenly i have all back in 2 days?
anyone with more experience any comments?

My tank is 3 months old.

what water do you use? that does look like some form cyano paired with hair alage to me. test your water to determine what exactly is off. is that a sabea anemone? how long has itbeen in there?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I do not see much of a clean up crew in the image?

How long is your lighting period?

As suggested above, water source, and parameters for at least nitrates and if possible phosphates.

Also increase your flow as mentioned above.

Welcome to 3reef by the way. :)

Thanks, I am using distilled water from the company that sells our natrual water here.

On saturday my levels were all ok. That is strange thing. I even doubted on my API test kits so LFS came in and checked with Hanna and all appeard ok just a little low PH but nothing out of whack. They were the ones that siphoned and cleaned. The sebaes been there for exactly 2 days. Just moved to the front of the tank..why?

Sebaes' are one of the hardest and more sensitive anemones and really needs to go in an established tank. New tanks have dramatic water chemistry issues, Sebaes' need stable.

An algae issue at this point in your tanks age is not uncommon.

A 3 month old tank is still very much in it's infancy.

I suspect you are getting a rush to stock job from the local fish store.

Slow down and let the tank age and stock slowly.

I have a JBJ 28 gallon with HQI.

Yes you are right, about Sebae. Ill see how it reacts and if not take it back :( Rushed a bit.

But what to do with the bubbles is the question. What is it?

It's the initial algae blooms that sometimes happen in newer systems.

What do the members of you clean up crew consist of?

How much are you feeding and how often?

There is little room for error in nanos. I would cut back the lighting a couple hours and looks for more significant snails if you have none or few. Turbos, Astrea and Certh are all good choices.

Oh and return the Sebae, and get store credit. I would question the integrity of any local fish store if they are trying to sell you an anemone for a 3 month old nano.

So i did get like 12 assorted snails but 4 died like in 4 days. I also have 4 hermits. 1 emerald crab and 1 cleaning shrimp! Should i get more? How many?

I just checked levels today and all seems almost perfect. So no idea what it could be.

So should i just wait and see what happens due to the fact that all levels are ok?

So should it not be important what the algae attack is if any to treat it?
