    Just now i noticed, theres bubbles on my sand? tiny tiny bubble, and they keep floating up, but more are coming. Is this normal? i have 3 inch of sand btw

    did you just put the sand in the tank? If so, then chances are its air that is trapped. Mine did that when I first put the tank together. It took about 2 weeks for it to stop. I finally had to stir it up gently.

    it just means that your sand bed is working..bubbles are the waste gasses from your sandbed breaking down everything

    (or so i have been told)

    It's Nitrogen, and its perfectly normal.

    Yup, your DSB is working for you. What happens (from my understanding) is that the dissolved oxygen is consumed and once you have a low oxygen environment (in the DSB) certain anaerobic bacteria will do very well – its this bacteria that consumes nitrates and converts the nitrates to nitrogen which is released via the bubbles you are seeing.

    +1 on the nitrogen unless you are starting a cyno outbreak. In that case the cyno is releasing gases. Do you see the beginnings of a slimy film on over the sand bed?

    mm not yet..i think..There is brown algaes on it..and the bubble mostly seem to come out from brown part of the sand.
    I got pure white sand to begin with by the way
