i didnt know this was fish only with live rock. So whats the 100g needed for? the live rock only? How much water are you taking with/ Just enough for livestock transport?

well, so that i can speed up the process.. like when you mix the water and salt, it takes a while for it to get ready..

the more water i take the faster.. and then i would have a more similar water chemistry, so acclimation will be easier too.

i was planning on taking the most i could.. 100 something gallons..

What kind of water are you going to use? I ask because if it's RO/DI from home then you should get on making that now. If it's RO from an lfs or from a vending machine that will take quite a few trips so be prepared either way to spend a good amount of time preparing the water.

Edit: I was posting this while you were posting the above ^^^

well, im using water straight out of the faucet... ( plus the water im saving from my tank)..

i dont have enough money to buy an RO... nor enough money to buy it from the LFS..

so far i havent used RO water. and have had no problems with anything. My tds isnt that bad i guess.

i am going to use prime to remove chlorine but thats about it... however im not doing this by choice, i just dont have the money to do either right now and i must make the move this week. :(

When I tansfered tanks, I used new sand and had no issues with the tank cycling or being unsafe for livestock. I would always use new sand when changing tanks. Too much poop is in the old samd that will be stirred up contaminating the water.

Thanks, Seano, lol. :p. Tap isn't going to hurt the fish, but it still needs to be warm. Keep in mind that 100 gallons is, ermmmmm, 800 pounds or so.

Be careful a friend just moved a tank in house and did everything right except the sand bed released nitrites and killed all of his coral.
