Cool, I want a 5x2x2, but lighting is such a problem.
When/if I do get one, it will be drilled w/ overflows, and I'll make my own custom lighting using 2 MH fixtures and some staggered T5 or PC for actinics.
...And like Luna, I can't wait to see some pics.

yeah it's a beautifully sized tank. I think it will be a great tank for the fish to swim in and my tangs will love it as I'm not going to be using much rock at all (120 lbs or so)

Congrats dude. Excellent dimensions to that tank. I will have to look into that myself for an upgrade (someday). It will fit into the spot I have now. Hmmmmmm. Oh, I can hear my wife now. Can you? I don't know where you live, but Luna will be able to hear her in Florida. JOOOOOOHHHHHHHNNNNN. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Maybe if I just put it up she won't notice...........

Thats a small price to pay for a dream set up. As for the wifie letting you get away with it, thats the clam before the storm.......lmao She'll hit you up on something else later. If she's anything like my wife, it will be soon. I'll tell you a story about how I got my up-grade with out a sound from the old ball and chain. I was going on and on about how I wanted a parrot, which one I was going to get, what name, where it was going to go and all that jazz. She likes birds , but she doesnt like the smell of them esp. when it gets hot and humid. " yes Im"......."No your not"......" Yes Im" and that want on and on. Until I said....." Ok, I'll tell you what, I'll forget about the bird if we can up grade my tank". Well, needless to say, it was a no brainer for her and I got my up-grade. The best part of all this, was/is that I didnt even want the freakin bird........:hehe: Luna

BTW, I know that you dont want to lose your tank, but I would reconsider drilling it. Those HOB overflows are a real P.I.T.A.

I Whole heartedly agree Daniel, I drilled my 75 and had never done anything like it before. The bits cost me about 30 bucks. I read and watched videos of others doing it, then I just did it. All you have to remember is to take you time and don't force it. once I did the first one the next 6 were easy!

ok a little change here. I've decided that I'm going to add the 2 x 175 watt mh to the system. I'm going to take the lights from my sps tank and disban that tank as well. It has a hamilton fixture so I will gut it and install the lights into a canopy. This will give me 2 x 175 watt mh and 4 x 96 watt pc. I'm thinking if I run my actinics (2 x 96 watt) for 10 hrs per day, run my 10,000k pcs (2 x 96) for 8 hrs per day and then run the mh for 5 hrs it should be good.

Please everyone stay tuned in. I went and saw his project and it is coming out nicely! However you should also see the look on his wifes face.......he keeps changing his mind so it will be interesting to see how it turns out and if his wife explodes in the process!!

LOL!!!! I got a chuckle out of that one. Just keep the tank covered so that if she does explode, it will not extend the cycle. My wife exploded when I made the mistake of telling her what the 8x54W Teks were going to cost. I had a canopy on mine, thank God.
