    I would do the same thing it won't do any harm I added it by the cup fulls when I was using my buffer.. Again could it be CO'2 suppressing the P.H Take a cup of that water from the tank set it outside and blast it with a air stone and pump and let it run a hr then test the P.H and also if you are using a PH liquid test kit it's maybe close at best.. PH needs to be checked with a monitor..Whats the DKH or Alk thats what we need to know..If the LFS guy did not tell you all this he must have missed that day in marine Biology school
