Bugs in Sump

    I've got a lot of Chaeto in my sump with Aragonite substrate. I was pruning the chaeto when I noticed a lot of little translucent bugs running around eating a small piece of some dead Zoas. What the heck could these be?

    Can't tell from the pics but probably copepods.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    As posted previously these are most likely some type of pod (catch all name). You can ID the type on the link below. The VAST majority are harmless and consider beneficial.

    Probably amphipods based on the images. Look like little shrimps. Is this a good thing?

    i would say its a great thing. Those little "bugs" will help break down lower levels of waste, and serve as a great food sorce to picky eating fish.
