i'm not really sure it's an emergency but i just noticed lots of tiny bugs on my surface. some of them are swimming really really fast and the rest are just floating (dead maybe?). what could it be? and what do i do to get rid of it? i tried to net them out but it doesn't seem to help very much. what can i do to keep my surface clean? from bugs and in general.

are these bugs from the air? such as flying ants etc ( I get half a dozen or so per year of these that land on my reef tank)
or are they water based bugs? such as copepods and amphipods

it's definitely not copepods. i think it's some sort of a surface water bug. gross! i used my net to take the mess out. *sigh*
