With a tank that size you will have major humidity problems anyways. You're going to need a dedicated humidity and temperature controller.

Anyone remember mr. 3000 from RC a few years back? He ended up rotting out his house in just a couple years because he didn't put in a ventilation system.

Solatube Daylighting System and Tubular Daylighting Devices for residential or commercial daylighting and sunlighting needs are the smart, green and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional skylights

Its a decent idea, and they are cheap to install. I help design "green" homes around here, and these things are great. Its amazing how much light they allow in. Ya just need to install them in a good local so you don't have to clean them alot, and make sure you hire a good roofer, or they'll leak like a sieve. I have 2 in my garage waiting for me to not be lazy. Would def help with lighting cost though. But if you're building a 2300G tank, kinda guessing lighting cost aren't a major factor.

I woulda go with that solution if not because where I live, daytime can be really , I mean REALLY!!! short, and it won't be enough for my tank.
