    Building a custom Refugium -- Part 2

After a long business trip I retruned home to build this crazy contraption.

The theory behind the design proves only that I can't make up my mind about anything so I have to have everything both ways ;D

This design is a dual isolated chamber with indivdualy adjustable flow rates via a slider mechanism from the water rail into each chamber. One chamber will be a mud base the other sand.

Water enters at the top bulkhead, runs along the water rail where it spills into each chamber at a rate that is adjustable via the plastic sliders, if the input water flow is too high it spills over the water rail trap at the end, and the extra water is diverted to the overflow area and drains off with the rest of the chamber overflow water.

The water that spills into each chamber simply overflows over the lower edge at the front of the fuge and drains back into the sump.

Should prove to be an interesting design, I will be plumming it in this weekend. :)

Plumed in the fuge today, looks like everything is working correctly, and that's a bloody miracle

Each chamber holds approx 10g of water, and the adjustable water rail is going to work out really slick. Water is pumped in from the bubble trap area in my sump with a Maxi-jet 1200 powerhead, and it drains to the sump outflow. Now for the six month wait to get things dialed in ;)
